Rangamati :: DB Police arrested a leader of Jubo Mahila League named Antara Sen along with 20 pieces of yaba in Rangamati. The police said that she was arrested from the municipal area of Rangamati city last Thursday (July 27-2023) evening. According to police sources, she was caught red-handed while buying and selling yaba from the municipal area of the city. Rangamati Kotwali police station officer-in-charge (OC) Ariful Amin confirmed the matter and said that the DB police arrested a woman from the municipality along with Yaba. she has been handed over to the police station. The OC said that the arrested Antara Sen has been sent to court in a drug case. The Rangamati Chief Judicial Magistrate court ordered the accused to be sent to jail without granting bail. It is to be noted that Antara Sen was a reserved women councilor candidate in the 2021 Rangamati municipal elections and is the joint convener of the Sadar Upazila Jubo Mahila League. President of Rangamati District Jubo Mahila League Rokeya Akhtar said that she was with us earlier. But she is not with us for a long time. Jubo Mahila League president also claimed that he has no contact with the organization since the municipal elections.
