The victims have started returning to the homeless village in Langadu

Staff reporter :: People suffering from communal fire in Longadu Upazila started returning to the village. Administration has opened two shelter centers for the returnees people. Local administration and army forces are providing food assistance to the people coming to the shelter center. Police filed a case against fire connector at chakma peoples houses. Police operation against fire-connectors is continued.

Rangamati Police Superintendent Sayeed Tariqul Hasan told,More then 5 peoples were arrested on Sunday 4th June.12 people have been arrested for firing on Chakma people’s house.
The police operation will continue, he said.

In the police case, 15 people named have been mentioned and accused unknown 400.To avoid the arrest, the men of that area have gone elsewhere.

Chairman of Task Force on Hill Refugees Jatiyantra Lal Tripura, Rangamati District Awami League central member Dipankar Talukder and Rangamati Hill District Council chairman Brisha Ketu Chakma visited the affected areas in Langudu.

Meanwhile, protesting the incident of fire -connecting in the chakma peoples houses, the United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) has called for the blocking of roads and waterways in Rangamati district from 5am to 12pm on Monday, 5 June.
However, patient carrying ambulances - emergency electricity-water-gas supply companies, newspapers and bicycles will not be under siege.

It is to be noted that, on June 2, the local Bangali peoples set fire to the Chakma houses in Rangamati longudu upazela. To save lives, the Chakma people of 3 villages fled away.
