Bagerhat Correspondent :: At intervals of twelve hours East Sundarban’s range of Soronkhola, Daservarani forest, the fire started to burning up again. To extinguish the fire, three units of fire service are working there. Before that on Monday, 3rd May 2021, after 30 hours of lots of efforts, the fire had been extinguished in Tuesday evening. So far, in the last 20 years 25 cases of fire were reported in the Sundarban.
Officer of Soronkhola Fire Service Station Abdur Sattar informed that the last two days ago (3rd may) from where the fire broke out in Shoronkhola Range’s Daservarani patrol outpost, fire started to burning up again on the half kilometer of south from there. On Wednesday (5th may), fire is started to burning up on a large scale in this area. Forest Inspector of Sundarban Division’s Khula Area Md. Moin Uddin, East Sundarban’s DFO Md. Belayet Hossain and Officer in charge (OC) of Saronkhola police station Md. Saidur Rahman had visited the area. To investigate the incidence three members of committee were formed.
To extinguish the fire the staffs of Bagerhat, Morelgong and Shoronkhola staions are working there. Officer of fire station had confirmed that about 6 acres of area was burnt out with the fire.
